Throughout the year, the gallery will show a rolling program of solo and group exhibitions. This includes local, south-west region, Perth, and residency artists. Our vision is to show a diverse range of artistic expression, primarily through visual arts. However, this may also include sculpture and installation, performance art, projection and/or music to make this space vibrant and interesting to visit and return to.

Lost Eden is a 150 square metre exhibition space where wall space is plentiful. The 3.6 metre high walls and large exposed jarrah truss beams supporting the tin roof, creates an inspiring space. Natural light floods the gallery space through the large windows and the sliding door, opening out to a wide timber deck overlooking the gardens. A plan of the gallery can be seen below.

Located on the main street, the building is unique and recognisable. Once a tired looking relic from the 1940s, Lost Eden now has a beautifully renovated interior and exterior. Incorporating a contemporary style with the feel of the country, this space offers a modern take on its rich heritage.

Heritage

Originally build in the mid-1940s, the house and shopfront sold homewares and haberdashery. The locals who remember the store fondly recall that “anything could be purchased there”. In 1961, an immense and devastating bushfire all but destroyed the town; the building was one of the few that survived. Offering much needed commercial space, the shop was divided in two. This became the greengrocer and butcher. Over the following years, this building has had a variety of uses. This includes a games arcade, church, childcare centre, gallery and gift shop.
